Disney Princesses on Ice - AKA Heaven for Ainsley

Friday night was a big night for Ainsley. For the first time, she went to her very first ice show with her parents all by herself (no Juliet). We had been planning on having a special Ainsley night for awhile as I feel its important that each child get their parents to themselves a few times a year. We hadn't done this since the summer when we went to Canada's Wonderland so we were due. I wanted to make sure that the outing we chose would be something that Ainsley would love so when the opportunity to attend this show presented itself I knew it was perfect.

I told Ainsley Friday morning that we had a special night planned for her and that we were going to see the Princesses. It was probably a mistake to tell her so early in the day as all she could talk about the rest of the day was going to see the princesses. I also showed her a clip of the show http://disney.go.com/disneyonice/. She didn't nap because she was so excited. She rushed us through dinner and was all ready to go out the door well before we needed to leave. Finally, to her relief we headed down to see the Princesses.

I was a little worried that the show might not live up to her increasing expectations but from the moment it started Ainsley was mesmorized. She's seen a number of Disney movies including Snow White, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Tinkerbell. She was thrilled to be able to see recognizable characters dancing on skates. She was especially excited to see Ursula from The Little Mermaid and was introduced to the Blue Genie from Aladdin who is now all she talks about.

My husband and I enjoyed the show but what was the greatest part of the night was watching Ainsley's obvious enjoyment of the show. She had a huge smile on her face throughout and excitedly pointed out the characters.

All in all this was a great night and for any of you who have little girls you should definitely check it out.
